Tale of a Strider
As he entered the alley, somehow hoping he would find his light elsewhere then under the streets of blue and gray.
He looked and saw the scarce outline of figures illuminated only by the cigarette in his hand.
They beckoned but he stood there, staring at the omniscient image while covering the already shrouded figure with smoke, he turned..
He said to himself as if they would not hear him “one darkness is all, and if i shall walk one, it will be one with strife”
The pictures in his mind bled, knowing what would happen with the next step.
Reminiscing the Blue and Gray from minutes ago, he took a breath holding the now dear thought in his mind, he walked.
as he got closer he looked down at his hand..
and cried the words “this is my light, and though the alley it will guide me”
Not realizing he has been walking he looks up, to see nothing.
looking down again and his cigarette was put out.
He could not see anything as his one hope failed him.
with nothing protecting him, he ran..
The walls opened and the once black was gray and blue again. Sorrow rushed over him..
He was happier with the company of death then none at all..
